Monogram Crayon Melting - Project 2.5

Rainbow Monogram Crayon Melt

You will need:
1 canvas
2 boxes of 24 pack crayons
1 hot glue gun with a few refills
1 emboss heating tool (or a hairdryer)
painters tape
newspaper

Step 1 - The first thing you want to do is cut out the letter you want using the painters tape. This is quite time consuming and very much a pain in the butt. Next, hot glue the crayons in any order you like to the top of the canvas with the tips facing down. When you are finished, center the tape letter to the canvas, but put it closer to the top by the crayons.

Step 2 - Cover your floor in newspaper! The melted crayon will go flying everywhere, especially if you use a hairdryer on full speed. Hold the canvas at a high angle for long individual drips, and a lower angle for thicker ones. I held up the canvas with crayon boxes at a low angle, so the end result was a bigger stream of colors instead of a bunch of drips. Then take your hairdryer or heating tool and hold it about an inch away from the crayons. It will start melting in about 10-15 seconds.

Step 3 - Once your canvas is filled with the melted crayon, wait about 30 seconds for it to dry. Then peel off your tape. Some of the crayon will make its way under the tape; I'm sure there's a different tape that would work better, but that's all I had.
